10, 2001 HAVERFORD, PA -- The Washington College women's soccer team came up on the short end of a 5-0 final score this afternoon against host Haverford College in a Centennial Conference game. The Shorewomen fall to 3-9-2 overall and 1-5 in conference play with the loss, while the Fords improve to 8-5 and 4-3. Senior midfielder Liz Young (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) scored two out of the Fords' three first-half goals. Senior midfielder Claire Sandstrom (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County), senior back Ashley Hedrick (Walnut Creek, CA/Northgate), and junior forward Maddy Yovanoff (Fort Collins, CO/Rocky Mountain) notched the other goals. Washington sophomore goalkeeper Mandy Higdon (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) made 12 saves in the loss. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Franklin & Marshall. Box Score
