24, 2004 CARLISLE, PA --The seventh-ranked Washington College women's rowing team competed at the Atlantic Collegiate League Sprints regatta today in Carlisle, PA. The Shorewomen entered four events and finished in the top three in all four. In the varsity eight, the Shorewomen finished in second place, six seconds behind first-place and second-ranked Ithaca and in front of third-place and 13th-ranked Marietta. Senior Amy Levak (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's varsity eight. Senior Kelly McGlynn (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) sat stroke, senior Sara Beegle (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic) was in the seven seat, sophomore Katherine Wilson (Devon, PA/Conestoga) was in the six seat,senior Leona Dalton (Bowie, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) was in the five seat, senior Liz Smith (Sharpsburg, MD/Boonsboro) was in the four seat, junior Sam Hastler (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) was in the three seat, freshman Jeanne Clark (Pound Ridge, NY/Fox Lane) was in the two seat, and freshman Meg Chapman (Meriden, NH/Lebanon) was the bow. In the second varsity eight, Ithaca finished in first place by 16 seconds. Washington was running in third place, but came from behind to take second place over Marietta, which finished in third. Washington won the frosh/novice four, finishing ahead of second-place RIT. The Shorewomen were third in the frosh/novice eight behind first-place Ithaca and second-place RIT.
