WC Eights Excel at Keuper Cup

MELBOURNE, FL -- The Washington College women's rowing team competed at the Keuper Cup Regatta in Melbourne, FL, today. Both the Shorewomen's varsity eight and second varsity eight boats won their respective events by wide margins.

The varsity eight defeated Marietta by over 11 seconds in its heat to advance to the final, finishing in 7:29.29. In the final, the Shorewomen went head-to-head with Stetson and defeated the Division I boat by more than 13 seconds, finishing in 7:57.70.

The second varsity eight defeated Stetson in its two-team final. The Shorewomen's time of 8:04.19 put them more than 11 seconds ahead of Stetson.

Washington's varsity four also competed at the regatta, losing its heat to Marietta in a time of 8:50.71.

The Shorewomen next compete March 29th at the Caspersen Cup, the annual three-way regatta between Washington College, St. John's (MD) College, and Johns Hopkins University. Hopkins is this year's host.
