20, 2001 BOSTON, MA -- The Washington College women's rowing squad had one team entrant today at the Head of the Charles Regatta, the largest crew event in the world. That team, entered in the women's club four, finished fourth out of 58 crews in the event. Sophomore coxswain Amy Levak (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) guided the boat across the finish line at 19:28.26. The Shorewomen were the first collegiate team to complete the race. Senior Brianne Brynelson (Lake Oswego, OR/Lake Oswego) sat stroke, while sophomore Sara Beegle (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic) and sophomore Kelly McGlynn (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) sat third and fourth, respectively. Senior Hilary Wurzbach (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) was the team's bow. The Shorewomen return to action next Saturday at the Head of Schuykill Regatta. |
