#1 Diplomats Handle Shorewomen, 20-2
Cumberpatch Has Goal, Assist in Loss

LANCASTER, PA -- Top-ranked host Franklin & Marshall scored 13 goals on 15 shots in the first half en route to a 20-2 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats, the defending NCAA Division III National Champions, improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 4-4 and 0-2 with the loss.

Jen Pritchard paced F&M with five goals, scoring on all five of her shots. Shannon Summers added three goals and two assists, while Laura Ruppersberger scored three goals and had one assist. Meredith Lussier also netted three goals, while Mary Blake Hargest fired in two goals and assisted on two others.

Freshman midfielder Liz Cumberpatch (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) scored one goal for Washington and assisted on a goal by junior midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River).

F&M held a 29-9 advantage in shots in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at McDaniel.
