2008 BRYN MAWR, PA -- Visiting Washington College topped host Bryn Mawr College, 14-8, in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game this afternoon. The Shorewomen finish their season 8-8 overall and 3-6 in conference play, while the Owls fall to 4-11 and 0-9 with a non-conference game remaining on their schedule. Washington scored six of the game's first eight goals before the Owls cut the lead to 6-4 with two goals late in the first half. The Shorewomen opened the second half with three straight goals, however, and led by at least four the rest of the way. Washington junior midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) had one goal and four assists on the day to bring her career point total to 101. Her 100th point came on an assist on a goal by senior midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) 1:07 into the second half. Junior attacker Suzie Jakub (University Park, MD/St. John's College, DC) fired in four goals for the Shorewomen, while Gouck added three and senior midfielder Lindsay Fox (Laurel, MD/Atholton) scored two. Sophomore midfielder Allie Hanzsche (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) contributed a goal and two assists. Fox also racked up seven caused turnovers in her final game to increase her school-record career total to 103. Freshman goalie Amber Madore (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) tallied 13 saves, including 10 in the second half. Greta Flaherty scored four goals for the Owls, while Moriah Scott and Georgia Lawrence each scored two goals. Stephanie Hilton made 23 saves in goal for Bryn Mawr. Washington outshot Bryn Mawr, 42-27, in the game. |
