2007 WELLINGTON, FL -- Second-ranked Gettysburg College scored the first nine goals of the game en route to a 17-4 win over Washington College in the Centennial Conference women's lacrosse opener for both teams this morning in Wellington, FL. The Bullets, who held a 12-2 halftime lead, improved to 4-0 overall, while the Shorewomen slipped to 2-4. Katie Ceglarski scored three goals and assisted on two others for the Bullets, while Katie Hagan finished with one goal and four assists. Jen Betts added three goals, while Hollis Stahl and Krissy Browning scored two goals each for Gettysburg. Sophomore midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) scored three of Washington's four goals in the game, while junior midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored the other. Sophomore attacker Suzie Jakub (University Park, MD/St. John's College, DC) and junior defender Lindsay Fox (Laurel, MD/Atholton) tallied one assist each, while senior goalie Mollie Binotto (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) made 14 saves in the loss. Gettysburg held a 44-15 advantage in shots in the game. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. game at Wesley. |
