Shorewomen Overcome Fords, 17-8
Mancini Tallies Two Goals, Four Assists

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Freshman attacker Sally Mancini (Ocean City, MD/Worcester Prep) scored two goals and assisted on four others as host Washington College defeated visiting Haverford, 17-8, in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game this afternoon at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improved to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play with the win, while the Fords fell to 6-6 and 0-5.

Mancini was one of five Shorewomen with multiple goals in the game. Junior midfielder Lauren Sampson (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) fired in three goals and recorded one assist, while freshman attacker Suzie Jakub (University Park, MD/St. John's College, DC) scored three goals of her own. Sophomore midfielder Alli Luchey (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) added two goals and one assist, while junior attacker Caitlin Beane (University Park, MD/Elizabeth Seton) also scored two goals. Sophomore midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) finished with one goal and two assists, while senior midfielder Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame), junior midfielder Melanie Ruppert (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park), and freshman midfielder Brittany Lambert (Riva, MD/South River) notched one goal and one assist each.

Elizabeth Koelmel led the Fords with three goals and one assist.

Junior goalie Mollie Binotto (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) played the first 45:13 for the Shorewomen and made seven saves, while allowing four goals. Chelsea Meerbach made 13 saves for Haverford.

Washington held a 37-22 advantage in shots and a 31-24 advantage in ground balls. The Shorewomen also controlled 17 of the game's 27 draws. Gouck controlled a game-high five draws, all in the first half.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at fifth-ranked Franklin & Marshall.
