McDaniel Downs Shorewomen, 19-9
Ruppert Scores Three Goals for WAC

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting McDaniel College posted a 19-9 win over host Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Green Terror improved to 9-4 overall and 4-4 in conference play, while the Shorewomen fell to 3-12 and 1-7.

Lindsay Ricks led McDaniel with five goals and one assist, while Tara Smith added four goals and one assist and Michelle Mullen finished with two goals and two assists. Caitlin Schellhorn added two goals and one assist, while Erika Walker and Connie Wuenschel each finished with two goals and one assist for the Green Terror.

Sophomore Melanie Ruppert (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) fired in three goals for the Shorewomen, while senior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied two goals and two assists. Junior midfielder/attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) added two goals, while junior attacker Kelly Gallagher (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) and freshman attacker Megan Rainey (Severna Park, MD/Arhcbishop Spalding) each scored one goal for Washington.

McDaniel held a 37-20 advantage in shots and a 37-17 advantage in ground balls in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with their final Centennial Conference game of the season, a 1:00 p.m. contest at Ursinus.
