April 2, 2005 GETTYSBURG, PA -- Eighth-ranked Gettysburg College posted a 24-2 victory over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse this afternoon. The Bullets improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-7 and 1-3. Thirteen different players scored at least one goal for the Bullets, who held a 15-1 lead at halftime. Cristi Farrell led Gettysburg with four goals and one assist, while Quinn Dougherty scored three goals and Jenn Kelly tallied two goals and two assists. Sophomore attacker/midfielder Megan Block (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) scored both Washington goals, while senior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was credited with an assist. Senior defender Tarra Boulden (Newark, DE/Tower Hill) scooped up five ground balls for the Shorewomen and junior defender Megan Crisler (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) tallied three caused turnovers. Gettysburg held a 47-4 advantage in shots and a 50-23 edge in ground balls in the game. The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford. |
