#13 F&M Pulls Away from WAC, 16-6
Bollinger, Gallagher Score Two Goals Each

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Thirteenth-ranked Franklin & Marshall scored eight unanswered goals during the second half to pull away from host Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Diplomats improved to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-9 and 1-5 with the loss.

F&M held a 7-4 lead at halftime, but Washington cut the lead to two when senior defender Tarra Boulden (Newark, DE/Tower Hill) scored off a feed from freshman midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) with 27:12 remaining in the second half. F&M's Brenna Dolphin answered with the first of the Diplomats' eight straight goals at 24:52. Kristen Foster found Kelly Cassels with 5:55 remaining in the game to cap off the run and put F&M up, 15-5.

Cassels finished with four goals and two assists in the win, while Foster tallied four goals and one assist and Alexis O'Meara added one goal and four assists. Beverly Menghetti and Brenna Dolphin each scored two goals for the Diplomats, while Allison O'Meara contributed one goal and one assist. Eileen Keever and Akemi Moriuchi each scored one goal for F&M. Cassels led all players with five draw controls.

Junior midfielder/attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) and junior attacker Kelly Gallagher (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) scored two goals each for the Shorewomen, while senior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied one goal and three assists. Sophomore attacker/midfielder Megan Block (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis), sophomore attacker/midfielder Melanie Ruppert (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park), and Gouck each recorded one assist. Boulden scooped up a game-high six ground balls to go along with her one goal.

Kamissa Mort played the first half in goal for F&M, while Kim Pleasants played the second half. Each F&M goalie made three saves. Sophomore Nanna Kozemchak (Falls Church, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made 18 saves in the loss for the Shorewomen.

Franklin & Marshall outshot Washington, 42-15, in the game and controlled 17 of the game's 24 draws.

The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game against Rowan.
