Dickinson Defeats WAC, 15-11
Eichner Tallies Four Goals, Assist

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Dickinson College jumped out to a 10-5 halftime lead and held on for a 15-11 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse victory over host Washington College this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Red Devils improved to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-11 and 1-6 with the loss.

Washington managed to cut the lead to two goals three times in the second half. The Shorewomen started the period on a three-goal run to trim the deficit to 10-8, but the Red Devils scored the next two goals to push the lead to 12-8. Washington fired in the next two goals to cut the lead to 12-10, but Katie Austin scored off a feed from Lizzie Cone with 6:27 remaining to make it 13-10. Washington answered with a free-position goal by sophomore attacker/midfielder Lauren Sampson (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) with 3:51 remaining to trim the lead to 13-11, but Lizzie Skolnik and Morgan Kelly scored the final two goals of the game with 2:52 and 1:07 remaining, respectively, to seal the win.

Austin finished with five goals and two assists to lead the Red Devils, while Lesley Oot tallied one goal and five assists. Kelsey Oldendorp added two goals and one assist, while Laura Williams and Skolnik each scored two goals and Caitlin Blair contributed two assists. Cone finished with one goal and one assist, while Tara Goss and Kelly each scored one goal for Dickinson.

Senior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) paced Washington with four goals and one assist. Eichner's third and fourth goals were the 100th and 101st of her collegiate career. Junior attacker Kelly Gallagher (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) added two goals and two assists and junior midfielder/attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) contributed two goals and one assist. Sophomore attacker/midfielder Megan Block (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) finished with one goal and one assist, while Sampson and freshman midfielder Jenna Gouck (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) each scored one goal. Senior defender Tarra Boulden (Newark, DE/Tower Hill) and sophomore defender Meredith Ross (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) each tallied one assist. Ross's assist was the first of her collegiate career.

Dickinson outshot Washington, 33-28, and held a 19-9 advantage in draw controls. Cone and Oot each tallied a game-high seven draw controls for the Red Devils.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against McDaniel.
