Eichner Breaks Assist Record in Loss
Shorewomen Fall to Division II St. Anselm

ORLANDO, FL -- Division II St. Anselm outscored Washington College, 8-4, in the second half en route to a 13-9 women's lacrosse victory today at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. Senior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) became the all-time leader in career assists for the Shorewomen (1-1) in the loss.

Eichner picked up the 107th assist of her career just 21 seconds into the game when she found senior defender Tarra Boulden (Newark, DE/Tower Hill) for a goal. Eichner moved ahead of Maggy Kilroy, who recorded 106 career assists at Washington from 1997-2000.

The teams were tied at 5-5 at the half, but the Hawks (1-0) scored four of the first six goals in the second half to pull ahead, 9-7, on a goal by Andrea Berlin with 19:57 to play. Sophomore attacker/midfielder Melanie Ruppert (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) scored off a feed from junior attacker Kelly Gallagher (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) with 14:25 remaining to cut the lead to 9-8. The Hawks then reeled off four unanswered goals and grabbed a 13-8 lead on a marker by Melissa Jubinville with 5:56 left. Eichner assisted on a goal by junior midfielder/attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) with 3:16 left in the game to provide the final margin.

Lauren Glancy scored seven goals for the Hawks. Berlin was the only other St. Anselm player to score multiple goals, finishing with two.

Eichner totaled two goals and four assists in the loss, while Bollinger finished with two goals and one assist. Boulden and sophomore attacker/midfielder Megan Block (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) each scored two goals for the Shorewomen. Junior defender Megan Crisler (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) recorded seven caused turnovers for Washington and shared team-high ground ball honors with Boulden by scooping up five.

Washington will take on Shenandoah in Orlando tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
