#2 New Jersey Downs Shorewomen
Sawma & Alessi Lead WC Offense

EWING, NJ -- Second-ranked College of New Jersey remained undefeated at 10-0 on the season with a 20-7 victory over visiting Washington College in women's lacrosse action tonight in Ewing, NJ. The Lions led 12-4 at halftime and held a 39-14 advantage in shots in the game.

Bridget Bigley had a big game for TCNJ, scoring a game-high eight goals. Lauren Dougher and Carin Heller each tallied four goals and one assist for the Lions, while Lauren Gossner scored two goals and assisted on two others.

Senior attacker Casey Sawma (Conway, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) scored three goals and senior midfielder Erin Alessi (Baldwin, MD/Notre Dame Prep) added two goals and one assist to lead the Shorewomen. Senior midfielder Minta Sayres (East Haddam, CT/Westminster School) contributed one goal and one assist, while senior attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) scored one goal. Sophomore attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) and junior midfielder Tarra Boulden (Newark, DE/Tower Hill) each tallied one assist.

The Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game, but the Shorewomen cut the lead to 5-4 with 14:14 left n the first half on Alessi's second goal. The Lions answered by reeling off seven unanswered goals in the final 10 minutes of the period.

The Shorewomen are back in action Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Bryn Mawr.
