Profs Down Shorewomen, 19-12
Sawma Scores Four Goals for WC

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Host Rowan University posted a 19-12 win over visiting Washington College in women's lacrosse action this afternoon in Glassboro, NJ. The Profs improved to 8-4 with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 9-7 with the loss.

Washington held a 5-3 lead 13 minutes into the game before Rowan went on a 7-1 run to take a 10-6 lead on a goal by Maggie Goodman with 5:59 left in the half. The Shorewomen cut the lead to 10-8 later in the half, but would get no closer.

Morgan Lang led the Profs with five goals and four assists, while Goodman finished with five goals. Katie Kline tallied three goals and one assist, while Keely O'Brien added two goals and one assist and Liz McGough scored two goals for Rowan.

Senior attacker Casey Sawma (Conway, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) fired in four goals and assisted on another to lead the Shorewomen. Senior attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) added three goals, while sophomore attacker Erin Bollinger (Perry Hall, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) scored two goals and recorded one assist.

Junior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) scored one goal for Washington and recorded the 99th and 100th assists of her collegiate career. Senior midfielder Erin Alessi (Baldwin, MD/Notre Dame Prep) handed out three assists, while senior midfielder Minta Sayres (East Haddam, CT/Westminster School) contributed one goal and one assist. Freshman midfielder/attacker Melanie Ruppert (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) scored one goal for the Shorewomen and senior defender Diana Martin (Boothwyn, PA/Chichester) tallied her first career assist.

Sophomore defender Megan Crisler (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) tallied a game-high four caused turnovers for the Shorewomen.

Rowan held a 33-24 advantage in shots and a 22-10 advantage in draw controls in the game.

The Shorewomen close out the regular season Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. game at fourth-ranked Salisbury.
