No. 5 Bullets Down Shorewomen, 18-12
Sawma Scores Four Goals in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Fifth-ranked Gettysburg College used a six-goal run in the second half to pull away from host Washington College and post an 18-12 win in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Bullets improved to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in Centennial play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-4 and 2-2.

The Bullets held a 10-5 lead at halftime, but the Shorewomen rallied to pull within two goals at 11-9 with 20 minutes left in the second half. Gettysburg then reeled off six consecutive goals in under eight minutes, capped off by goal by Katie Hagan off an assist from Alexandra Ewing, to go up 17-9 with 12:24 to play.

Julika Blankenship recorded six assists and scored one goal for the Bullets, while Amy Farrell and Kathy Delauney each scored three goals and assisted on two others. Katie Lowe added four goals and Cassidy Zappacosta scored three goals and tallied one assist.

Senior attacker Casey Sawma (Conway, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) led Washington with four goals and one assist in the loss, while junior attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) contributed two goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Emmy Hyde (Gaithersburg, MD/Watkins Mill) scored three goals and senior attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) finished with two goals and one assist. Senior midfielder Minta Sayres (East Haddam, CT/Westminster School) scored one goal in the loss for the Shorewomen.

Liz Borucki made 13 saves in goal for the Bullets. Freshman goalie Mollie Binotto (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) made nine stops for Washington.

The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Haverford.
