26, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Freshman goalie Ashley Crisler (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) made 12 saves and junior attacker Casey Sawma (Conway, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) scored five goals to lead the host Washington College Shorewomen to a 17-6 Centennial Conference win over visiting McDaniel in rainy conditions at Shriver Field. The Shorewomen are now 7-0 overall this season and 3-0 in conference play, while the Green Terror slips to 0-4 and 0-1. The Shorewomen raced out to an 8-1 lead with 10:42 remaining in the first half and never looked back. Sophomore attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) scored two goals and tallied three assists, while senior attacker Paige Heller (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) scored two goals and had two assists. Junior attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) added a goal and three assists and senior midfielder Betty Weller (Sudlersville, MD/Queen Anne's County) tallied two goals and one assist. Freshman midfielder Emmy Hyde (Gaithersburg, MD/Watkins Mill) scored a pair of goals. Studdiford posted team-leading totals of eight ground balls and eight draw controls. McDaniel got two goals each from Sara Thomas, Liz Sexton, and Heather Nichols and two assists from Caitlin Schellhorn. The Shorewomen will look to equal their best-ever start Saturday against Centennial Conference foe Bryn Mawr at 12:00 p.m.. BOX SCORE
