12, 2002 PANAMA CITY, FL -- The Washington College Shorewomen dropped to 1-2 this season with a 19-8 loss to seventh-ranked William Smith today in Panama City, FL. The Herons (1-0) jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held an 8-3 advantage at the half en route to the win. Eight different players scored goals for William Smith in the contest, led by Amanda Wynn and Megan Shea, who scored four a piece. Shana Hawrylchak, Jackie Toner, Gretchen Lasda, and Brighde Dougherty each added two, while Brigid Lynch, Vicky Costello, and Nicki Traino tallied one goal each. She also chipped in two of the Herons' seven assists. Sophomore attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) scored four of the Shorewomen's eight goals. Junior midfielder Kristen Bozzella (Harwood, MD/Southern) added a pair, while freshman midfielder Lindsay Stockfisch (Wilton, CT/Wilton) and junior attacker Tracy Smet (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) each contributed one goal and one assist. Stockfisch also led the Shorewomen with three draw controls and "played very well," according to head coach Eleanor Shriver Magee. Freshman attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) notched her second consecutive three-assist game. The Shorewomen return to action March 21 with a 4:00 p.m. game at eighth-ranked St. Mary's (MD).
