30, 2002 BRYN MAWR, PA -- The Washington College Shorewomen cruised to a 19-7 Centennial Conference win at Bryn Mawr College this afternoon to improve to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Mawrters slipped to 1-4 and 0-3. The Shorewomen never trailed in the game and led 8-4 at halftime. Freshman attacker Lindsey Eichner (Raritan, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) had a five-point day for the Shorewomen, scoring four goals and assisting on another. Junior attacker Tracy Smet (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) had one of her best games of the season and doubled her goal total for 2002 with four goals on the day. Junior midfielder Betty Weller (Sudlersville, MD / Queen Anne's County) also finished with four points, scoring three goals and assisting on another. Sophomore attacker Casey Sawma (Conway, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) and sophomore midfielder Minta Sayres (East Haddam, CT/Westminster School) each finished with two goals and one assist. Junior attacker Paige Heller (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) added three assists, while Sophomore attacker Janet Studdiford (Wyndmoor, PA/Springside School) finished with a goal and two assists. Defensively, the Shorewomen got solid play off the bench from sophomore Amanda Skilling (Church Hill, MD/Queen Anne's County) and junior Amanda Hare (Westminster, MD/North Carroll). Sophomore goalie Mandy Higdon (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) made seven saves. Alyssa Berry scored two goals and had one assist for Bryn Mawr, while Sarah Caldwell finished with a goal and two assists. Claire Goldsmith made 21 saves for the Mawrters. The Shorewomen return to action with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game Tuesday against Swarthmore.
