Nicholoff Named Centennial
Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College junior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending August 31st. Nicholoff's play helped lead the Shorewomen to a 4-0 blanking of Randolph-Macon in their season opener on Saturday.

Nicholoff made nine saves in Washington's win to record her fifth collegiate shutout. She made seven of her stops in the first half as the Shorewomen built a 3-0 lead.

This marks the second time Nicholoff has earned Centennial Player of the Week honors. She was named Defensive Player of the Week for week ending September 9, 2007.
