November 17, 2008 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College junior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) has been named to the 2008 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South region second team. Nicholoff was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team earlier this month. Nicholoff finished the season with a .811 save percentage, a 1.86 goals-against average, and four solo shutouts. She was second in the Centennial Conference in save percentage and saves per game, tied for second in shutouts per game, and fifth in goals-against average. Nicholoff is the first WC goalkeeper to earn All-Region honors since Toby Wilmet in 2000 and the first WC player to earn All-Region honors since Erin Peyton in 2005. |
