2006 CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College pinned a 2-0 setback on visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference field hockey game today in Carlisle, PA. The Red Devils improved to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 2-12 and 2-7. Liz Stock gave Dickinson a 1-0 lead with a goal off an assist from Katie Austin with 15:20 to play in the first half. The score would remain 1-0 until Austin found Alyssa Sands for a goal with 28:38 remaining in the second half. Dickinson goalkeeper Amanda West made five saves for the Red Devils; freshman goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made six saves for Washington. The Shorewomen held an 11-10 advantage in shots and a 9-8 edge in penalty corners in the contest. The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game at sixth-ranked Salisbury.
