2006 BALTIMORE, MD -- Seven different players scored one goal each as visiting Washington College closed out its 2006 season with a 7-1 non-conference field hockey victory over host Notre Dame (MD) this afternoon in Baltimore. Washington jumped out to 5-0 lead at halftime and held a 22-8 advantage in shots in the game, which was called due to darkness with 6:18 remaining in the second half. Senior attack Shane Moser (Topton, PA/Brandywine Heights) scored one goal and assisted on another for the Shorewomen (3-14). Washington's other goal scorers were senior attack Molly Gavin (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding), junior attack Megan Rainey (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding), sophomore attack/midfielder Jaimie Barlow (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll), senior defender Kristin Ward (Magnolia, DE/Caesar Rodney), freshman midfielder Kelsey Kemp (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg), and sophomore attack Candace Gaull (Laurel, DE/Laurel). Ward's, Kemp's, and Gaull's goals were the first of their respective collegiate careers. Senior defender Katie Madron (Rising Sun, MD/Rising Sun) and senior midfielder Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) each recorded one assist in the win for Washington, which held a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made four saves, while freshman defender Courtney Clemmens (Baltimore, MD/Towson) recorded her first collegiate defensive save. Faith Wassink scored Notre Dame's goal off an assist from Mandy Bathras on a penalty corner. Amanda Arkwright played 27:07 in goal for the Gators (3-10), allowing four goals and making two saves. Jessica Maier made three saves and allowed three goals in 36:35. Erin Masters added a defensive save for Notre Dame.
