2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Senior attack Shane Moser (Topton, PA/Brandywine Heights) tied a school record with three assists in a single game as the Washington College field hockey team scored five goals in the first half en route to a 7-0 Centennial Conference win over visiting Bryn Mawr this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improved to 2-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play with the win, while the Owls fell to 2-11 and 0-6 with the loss. Moser's assists came on the first three goals of the game. Her performance marks the fourth time in WC field hockey history that a Shorewoman has recorded three assists in one game. Marie Mohler established the record in 1990. Christyl Arrabal and, later, Quincy Miles, each tied the record in 1999. Junior attack Rachel Miller (Greene, NY/Greene Central) scored two goals and assisted on another for Washington, while sophomore attack Amy Spadanuta (Hackettstown, NJ/Warren Hills) scored two goals. Junior attack Amanda Garbart (Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame),sophomore attack/midfielder Jaimie Barlow (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) and senior attack Molly Gavin (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding) each scored one goal. Garbart also tallied one assist. Barlow's goal was the first of her collegiate career. Freshman midfielder/attack Lindsey Hightower (Silver Spring, MD/Einstein), freshman defender Taylor Robinson (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township), and freshman midfielder Kelly Tancredi (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) each picked up their first collegiate assist in the game. Robinson's and Tancredi's first assists came on Barlow's direct penalty corner goal, the final goal of the game. Freshman goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made one save en route to her first collegiate shutout. Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Rachel Brady made 17 saves. Washington held a 32-1 advantage in shots and a 20-1 advantage in penalty corners. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. Centennial Conference game at Gettysburg.
