27, 2005 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting McDaniel College jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead en route to a 7-1 win over host Washington College in Centennial Conference field hockey action this afternoon in Chestertown, MD. The Green Terror improved to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 2-7 and 1-2. Lindsay Ricks led McDaniel with two goals and two assists. Lee Oliver scored one goal and added one assist, while Dani Unflat, Laura Baggaley, Colleen Nugent, and Brooke Dixon each scored one goal. Mel Thompson and Lindsay McDonald each tallied one assist. Washington junior midfielder Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) scored Washington's goal in the loss. Junior defender Wendy Glock (Fallston, MD/C. Milton Wright) was credited with her first collegiate assist. Washington junior defender Lindsey Riley (Rising Sun, MD/Rising Sun) made a defensive save in the game. McDaniel held a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 13-9 edge in penalty corners in the game. The Shorewomen return action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at 12th-ranked Franklin & Marshall.
