3, 2004 GETTYSBURG, PA -- Sixteenth-ranked host Gettysburg College topped visiting Washington College, 2-1, in a Centennial Conference Tournament first round game this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. The Bullets (12-6) advance to Saturday's Centennial Conference Semifinals at Ursinus College, where they will play the fourth-ranked Ursinus Bears at 11:00 a.m. The Shorewomen finish their 2004 season with a 9-9 record. Gettysburg got on the board first on a goal by Katie Lowe with 29:50 left in the first half. Becky Latta assisted on Lowe's goal. The Shorewomen tied the scored on a goal by junior defender/midfielder Meggie Kratz (Owings, MD/Northern) with 16:47 to go in the first. Maura Downey scored the game-winner for Gettysburg, off an assist from Bridget Seidel, with 19:40 left in the second half. The Bullets held a 16-7 advantage in shots in the game, including a 10-1 edge in the second half. Washington freshman goalkeeper Erin O'Brien (Havre de Grace, MD/John Carroll) and Gettysburg goalkeeper Katherine Corkhill each made six saves in the game.
