28, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD --Junior attack Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) and junior midfielder Breahn McAteer (Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) each scored a first half goal to give the host Washington College field hockey team a 2-0 non-conference win over Villa Julie this afternoon. Scimeca scored her 16th goal of the season with 17:54 remaining in the first half, while McAteer scored off a rebound with 11:32 to play before the break. Senior goalkeeper Zina Hense (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) made five saves en route to the shutout for the Shorewomen (9-7). Jacqui Healy made 12 saves in the loss for the Mustangs (8-10). Washington held a 14-5 edge in shots and a 14-5 advantage in penalty corners. The Shorewomen close out the regular season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at Muhlenberg. A Washington win coupled with a Gettysburg loss on Saturday would give the Shorewomen a berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs.
