11, 2003 SWARTHMORE, PA -- Freshman attack/midfielder Erin Woolever (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) scored the only goal of the game to lift visiting Washington College past Swarthmore College, 1-0, this afternoon in a Centennial Conference field hockey game. The Shorewomen improved to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play with the win, while the Garnet Tide slipped to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Woolever's goal, the first of her collegiate career, came with 17:12 remaining in the second half off an assist from a fellow Kent County High School alum - senior attack Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County). Washington senior goalkeeper Zina Hense (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) made six saves in the win. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Macon (Clarksville, MD/River Hill) saved a penalty stroke in the second half. Swarthmore's Karen Lorang made five saves for the Garnet. The Shorewomen are back in action Thursday with a 4:00 p.m. home game against No. 1-ranked Salisbury.
