16, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The third-ranked Salisbury University Sea Gulls defeated the host Washington College Shorewomen, 3-0, in non-conference field hockey action this afternoon in Chestertown. Salisbury improved to 11-1 with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 6-6. Erin Budd gave Salisbury a 1-0 lead when she scored off a direct corner from Lindsey Elliott and Brittany Elliott with 7:33 to play in the first half. Budd scored again with 32:53 to play in the second off an assist from Brittany Elliott and then assisted on a goal by Brittany Elliott with 6:34 to play in the second half. Salisbury goalkeeper Melissa Taylor made seven saves en route to the shutout. Washington senior goalkeeper Zina Hense (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) tallied 15 saves in the loss.
