25, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Sophomore attack Diane Green (Milford, DE/Milford) scored her first collegiate goal with 8:07 remaining in the second half to lift the host Washington College field hockey team to a 3-2 Centennial Conference victory over Dickinson this afternoon. The Red Devils (7-9, 3-5 Centennial) took a 1-0 lead when Caroline Gouin scored off an assist from Andrea Carlow with 22:06 left in the first half. The Shorewomen (8-7, 5-4) tied things up when junior attack Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) redirected in a ball off the stick of freshman midfielder Ally Simons (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley) with 13:06 left in the first. Washington grabbed a 2-1 lead with 5:24 to go before the break when Simons sent a pass out of the corner to sophomore defender Meggie Kratz (Owings, MD/Northern) who knocked it in for the goal. Dickinson's Jennifer Portillo tied things up with an unassisted goal with 26:25 left in the second half. Green's game-winner came off an assist from senior attack Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County). Senior goalkeeper Zina Hense (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) made nine saves in the win for the Shorewomen. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. home game against Villa Julie.
