26, 2002 HAVERFORD, PA -- The Washington College Shorewomen picked up their third consecutive win today with a 2-0 shutout over host Haverford College. The Shorewomen improve to 7-6 overall and 4-1 in Centennial Conference play, while the Fords slip to 5-10 and 1-5. Senior midfielder Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton) got the Shorewomen on the board with 22:43 left in the first period. Junior forward Erin Thomas (Newport News, VA/Denbigh) scored the game's other goal with just 2:30 to play in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Zina Hense (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) made four saves to record her second shutout in the past three games. WC held a 16-5 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in penalty corners. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Swarthmore. Box Score
