14, 2002 ONEONTA, NY -- The Washington College field hockey team held a 2-1 halftime advantage against host Hartwick this afternoon, but could not hold on as the Eagles came back for a 3-2 victory. The loss drops the Shorewomen to 2-2 on the season. WC senior forward Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton) broke a scoreless tie with 12:28 left in the first half on an unassisted goal. Hartwick tied things up with 9:41 on the clock when Tara Wilkes scored an unassisted tally of her own. Shore junior forward Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County) put WC in front again with 5:29 left before the break off an assist from junior forward Erin Thomas (Newport News, VA/Denbigh). The Shorewomen maintained the lead until Hartwick's Ann Fidler found Wilkes for a game-tying goal with 8:08 left in the second half. Kelly Cooman scored the game-winner less than three minutes later, with 5:17 left to play. The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with their home opener, a 4:30 p.m. contest against 19th-ranked Ursinus. Box Score
