28, 2002 CARLISLE, PA -- Senior back Megan Daily (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) scored a pair of goals to the lead the Washington College field hockey team to a 5-1 victory over Dickinson College in the Shorewomen's Centennial Conference opener. The Shorewomen, now 4-4 overall, led 3-0 at halftime against the host Red Devils (3-4, 0-2). Freshman midfielder Bonnie Loder (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) scored the Shorewomen's first goal with 23:14 left in the first period. Daily scored the next two - the first of which came with 14:25 to go in the period and the second of which came off a penalty corner and an assist by Loder with no time remaining. The Shorewomen pushed the lead to 4-0 when junior forward Erin Thomas (Newport News, VA/Denbigh) scored with 33:50 to play in the second period. The Red Devils got on the board with 23:03 to go when Caroline Gouin scored off an assist from Andrea Carlow. WC sophomore forward Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) finished off the scoring with 14:11 to play on her 10th goal of the season. Senior goalkeeper Christie Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) made eight saves for WC in the win. The Shorewomen return to action a week from today with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Muhlenberg. Box Score
