11, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- A goal midway through each half proved enough to lift the Washington College field hockey team over visiting Villa Julie, 2-0, this afternoon in Chestertown. The Shorewomen surpassed their 2000 win total and improved to 10-4 overall with the win, while the Mustangs fell to 6-9 with the loss. Senior forward Avery Coleman (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) scored Washington's first goal, with 17:34 left in the first half off an assist from sophomore forward Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County). Junior midfielder Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton) scored from near the top of the circle with 18:10 to play in the second after receiving a pass from junior defender Megan Daily (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern). Washington junior goalkeeper Christie Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) stopped all six shots she faced en route to recording her fourth shutout of the season. The Shorewomen held decisive 30-6 and 15-2 advantages in shots and penalty corners, respectively. Washington head coach Sarah Feyerherm and assistant coach Rachel Wilmet will see a pair of familiar faces on the opposing sidelines Saturday. The Shorewomen play host to Randolph-Macon at 1:00 p.m. Yellow Jacket head coach Sarah Sobon and assistant coach Toby Wilmet are former All-Americans that played for Feyerherm at Washington.
