9, 2001 BALTIMORE, MD -- Washington College sophomore forward Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County) scored both goals during a 2-1 win at Johns Hopkins tonight that clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs for the Shorewomen. Washington, now 7-0 in conference play and 9-4 overall, rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit for its first win against the Blue Jays (3-8 overall, 2-3 Centennial). The first half nearly ended in a scoreless tie, but Blue Jay senior forward Ashley Robbins (Newtown Square, PA/Westtown School) scored with just forty seconds on the clock off an assist from sophomore midfielder Ashlee Duncan (Easton, MD/Easton). Sisco tied the game with 20:39 remaining in the second half off a feed from junior midfielder Jessica McAdams (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr). She scored the game-winner with 8:59 left off an assist from junior midfielder Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton). The Shorewomen outshot the Blue Jays, 13-9, but JHU held an 11-10 edge in penalty corners. Washington can wrap up the rights to host the four-team conference playoffs with a win in its next Centennial game, October 20 at Gettysburg. The Shorewomen will begin a stretch of three home non-conference contests in four days Thursday when they host Villa Julie at 4:30. They will then take on Randolph-Macon and Roanoke in back-to-back 1:00 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday, respectively, before getting a six-day rest leading into their showdown with Gettysburg.
