6, 2001 LANCASTER, PA -- For the second consecutive year, the Washington College field hockey team opened its Centennial Conference slate with a shutout of Franklin & Marshall. The Shorewomen (2-2 overall, 1-0 Centennial) posted a 3-0 win over the Diplomats (1-3, 0-1) this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. All three goals came in the first half. Junior midfielder Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton) scored the first goal with 28:54 left before the break. Less than two minutes later, sophomore forward Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County) pushed the lead to 2-0. The final WC marker was scored by senior forward Avery Coleman (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) with 8:54 remaining in the half. Sisco's goal was her fourth of the season. She has now scored at least one goal in the Shorewomen's last three games. Washington junior goalkeeper Christine Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton) made 14 saves in earning her second shutout. Diplomat junior goalkeeper Jenny Lindner (Northport, NY/Friends) made three saves in the loss. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. home game against Juniata College. Box Score
