15, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior back Megan Daily (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Washington College field hockey team to a 4-1 Centennial Conference victory over Dickinson today in Chestertown. The Shorewomen improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while the Red Devils slipped to 3-2 and 0-1. Daily scored what proved to be the game-winner just 40 seconds into the game off a pass from sophomore forward Erin Thomas (Newport News, VA/Denbigh). Washington struck again at the 26:58 mark in the first half when freshman midfielder/forward Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) scored a goal off a pass from sophomore forward Taneil Sisco (Kent County, MD/Kent County). Daily's second goal of the game came with 12:02 left before the break off an assist from junior midfielder Julie Phillips (Easton, MD/Easton). The Red Devils finally got on the board at the 9:38 mark in the half when freshman midfielder Emily Greenlee (Schwenksville, PA/Spring-Ford) found sophomore midfielder Andrea Carlow (McLean, VA/McLean) to cut the WC lead to 3-1. The only goal in second half was scored by Phillips with 31:55 remaining. Daily picked up her assist on that goal. Washington avenged a 1-0 loss to Dickinson last season with today's victory. Prior to that game, the Shorewomen had won the last four contests between the schools. Coming into the game, Dickinson had allowed just two goals over its first four games; Washington equaled that in less than ten minutes of play. The Shorewomen continue play in the Centennial Conference Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. home game against Haverford. Box Score
