Field Hockey Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Rachel Boyle

Rachel Boyle is in her fifth season as the Shorewomen's head coach. In 2003, the Shorewomen finished 10-7 overall and 6-4 in Centennial Conference play under Boyle and defeated Rowan, the defending NCAA Division III National Champions. In 2004, the Shorewomen finished 9-9 overall and 6-4 in conference play and returned to the Centennial Conference Playoffs.

Boyle graduated from Division I Ohio University in 1996. There, she was a four-year letter-winner and two-year starting defender on the field hockey team, serving as a co-captain in her senior season. Boyle was an assistant coach for the Shorewomen in 2000 and 2001 and served as co-head coach of the team in 2002.

Throughout the year, Boyle devotes much of her time to coaching youth and high school aged players in the USFHA Program and local community clinics and camps. She also performs administrative duties at Washington College as the school's Coordinator of Student-Athlete Services. Boyle completed her master's degree in Psychology at Washington.

Rachel Boyle


Assistant Coach: Laura Scimeca

One of Washington College's all-time greatest female athletes, Laura Scimeca is in her third season as an assistant coach for her alma mater. Scimeca holds the school records for career goals, career points, goals in a season, and points in a season and shares the school record for goals in a game.  She was a three-time All-Centennial Conference and three time All-South region first team selection and was chosen for the North/South Senior All-Star Game.  Womensfieldhockey.com recognized her as an All-American in 2004. Scimeca, who was also a three-time All-Centennial Conference selection in softball, won Washington's Sho'men Club and Senior Athlete Awards in 2005.

Scimeca recieved her undergraduate degree in Business from Washington College in May 2005.

Laura Scimeca


Assistant Coach: Jena Elliott

Jena Elliott is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Washington College field hockey team. Elliott is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, where she was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter on attack for the Eagles.

As a freshman at Mary Washington, Elliott helped her team to the NCAA Division III Tournament. As a sophomoe, she landed on the womensfieldhockey.com Weekly Honor Roll. During her senior season of 2006, Elliott served as team co-captain and led her team in goals scored.

Elliott earned a B.S. in Psychology from Mary Washington in 2007.
