Mules Surge Past Shorewomen, 83-57
Slizofski Scores 16 Points in Loss

ALLENTOWN, PA – Host Muhlenberg College scored 55 second-half points to blow open what was a close game at halftime en route to an 83-57 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Memorial Hall. The Mules improved to 13-5 overall and 8-3 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 7-10 and 4-6.

Muhlenberg held a slim 28-26 lead at halftime before outscoring Washington, 55-31, in the second period. The Mules shot 23-of-35 (66.7%) from the field in the second half.

Lauren Boyle scored 21 points to lead all scorers and pace the Mules. Alexis Bates added 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field, while Erin McSherry came off the bench to score 10 points and grab six rebounds. Kelly McKeon turned in game highs of eight assists and three steals for Muhlenberg.

Junior guard Brianne Slizofski (Collegeville, PA/Pius X) scored a team-high 16 points for Washington, while senior guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) added 12 points and sophomore guard Jane O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) finished with 10.

Muhlenberg shot 55% from the field in the game to Washington's 45%. The Mules out-rebounded the Shorewomen, 42-22, and brought down 18 boards on the offensive end.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Johns Hopkins.
