2007 CHESTERTOWN, MD Host Dickinson College raced out to a 37-19 halftime lead en route to a 66-44 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Carlisle, PA. The Red Devils improved to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 7-7 and 2-6 with the loss. Ally Teatom scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Dickinson. Laura Houseal added 17 points, while Jess Howard scored six points and dished out a game-high 12 assists. Junior guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) paced Washington with 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Freshman guard Jane O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) added 11 points, while freshman center Melissa Joseph (Selden, NY/Newfield) blocked a career-high four blocks. Dickinson shot 44% from the field in the game to Washington's 36%. The Shorewomen committed 21 turnovers to the Red Devils' nine. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at McDaniel. |
