Shorewomen Roll Past Owls, 82-46
Turner, Conway Lead WC to Victory

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Host Washington College raced out to a 44-21 halftime lead en route to an 82-46 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Bryn Mawr this afternoon at Cain Athletic Center. The Shorewomen improved to 9-10 overall and 4-9 in conference play with the win, while the Owls slipped to 4-13 and 1-11 with the loss.

Senior guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) scored 18 points, dished out five assists, and swiped a career-best eight steals in the win for the Shorewomen, while junior guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Freshman guard Jane O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) added 10 points, while sophomore guard Christie Rogers (Davidsonville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) tallied nine points and five assists. Freshman center Melissa Joseph (Selden, NY/Newfield) was four-of-four from the floor for eight points. She also had two blocks in the game.

Shanika Bridges-King led Bryn Mawr with 24 points and nine rebounds. Jessica Allen totaled 11 points and seven boards.

Washington shot 52% from the field in the game and held Bryn Mawr to 34%. Bryn Mawr committed 28 turnovers to Washington's 14, giving the Shorewomen 43 points off turnovers.

Washington's nine wins this season represent the most in a season by the Shorewomen since the 2002-03 campaign, when the team won 10 games.

The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game at Wesley.
