26, 2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD Visiting Ursinus College outscored host Washington College, 17-4, over the final 12:05 of the game en route to a 51-33 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory this evening at Cain Athletic Center. The Bears improved to 10-8 overall and 7-5 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 4-15 and 1-11 with the loss. Ursinus held a 34-29 lead before going on its game-ending run. The Bears held the Shorewomen off the scoreboard for the final 6:12 of the game. Neither team scored a field goal during the final 4:22 of the contest. Molly Guntli tallied a double-double for the Bears, finishing with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Mary Kate Daley finished with a team-high 16 points, while Julia Tramonta added seven points. Junior guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) led the Shorewomen with 10 points. Freshman forward Kaitlyn Roth (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to go along with six points. Sophomore guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) dished out a game-high five assists and swiped a game-best four steals. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. Centennial Conference away game against Bryn Mawr. |
