Mules Drop Shorewomen, 65-40
Pastorino Paces WC with 13 Points in Loss

ALLENTOWN, PA – Host Muhlenberg College outscored visiting Washington College, 21-4, in the final 16:10 of the first half en route to a 65-40 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory this afternoon at Memorial Hall. The Mules improved to 14-1 overall and 9-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 4-13 and 1-9 with the loss.

Meghan Courtney led Muhlenberg with a game-high 19 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Bethany Enterline added 13 points for the Mules, while Kristen Piscadlo dished out six assists.

Sophomore guard Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) scored a team-high 13 points and made three three-pointers in the loss for the Shorewomen. Sophomore forward Brenda Lucas (New London, PA/Avon Grove) added eight points and eight rebounds, while sophomore guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) scored six points and dished out six assists in the loss.

The Mules shot 40% from the field in the game, while holding Washington to 27% shooting. Muhlenberg out-rebounded Washington by a 48-35 margin. The Shorewomen turned the ball over 20 times while the Mules committed 14 turnovers in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Johns Hopkins.
