| January 24, 2006 BALTIMORE, MD Host Johns Hopkins outscored Washington College, 18-2, in a span of 7:25 in the first half and shot 40% from the floor while holding the Shorewomen to 22% shooting in the game en route to a 73-39 Centennial Conference women’s basketball victory this evening at Goldfarb Gym. The Blue Jays improved to 13-4 overall and 10-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 4-14 and 1-10 with the loss. Haley Wojdowski led Hopkins with a team-high 12 points, while Andrea Dodrill and Amanda Leese each added 11 points. Julie Miller added ten points, while Kristen Phillips grabbed 13 rebounds for the Blue Jays. Sophomore guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) scored a game-high 13 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for the Shorewomen. Junior guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Chestertown) added nine points for Washington in the loss. Hopkins also went on a 30-8 run in a 10:30 span in the second half to put the game out of reach for Washington. Hopkins out-rebounded Washington by a 55-38 margin. Washington only had one assist as a team, while Hopkins dished out 21 assists. The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Ursinus. |
