Fords Top Shorewomen, 76-57
Slizofski Nets Career-High 17 Points in Loss

HAVERFORD, PA – Host Haverford College went on a 14-2 run over the first 3:30 of the first half and outscored visiting Washington College, 16-4, in the final 7:25 of the period, en route to a 76-57 Centennial Conference women’s basketball victory this evening. The Fords improved to 5-18 overall and 3-13 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 5-17 and 2-13 with the loss.

Brittany Lattisaw led Haverford with 20 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high seven blocked shots in 27 minutes. Katie Crowley also had 20 points while Kathleen Abels added nine points and nine rebounds for the Fords in the victory.

Freshman forward Brianne Slizofski (Collegeville, PA/St. Pius X) recorded a career-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Shorewomen. Junior guard Regina Barrett (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Mamaroneck) added 16 points and had four rebounds and two assists, while sophomore guard Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA//Cardinal O’Hara) added seven points and pulled down six rebounds for Washington in the loss.

The Fords had ten blocked shots in the game, while the Shorewomen had three. Haverford out-rebounded the Shorewomen by a margin of 49-41 for the game and shot 43% from the field while holding Washington to 30% shooting in the contest.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Franklin & Marshall.
