7, 2006 GETTYSBURG, PA Host Gettysburg College outscored visiting Washington College, 36-22, in the first half and forced 25 turnovers in the game en route to a 69-53 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory this afternoon. The Bullets improved to 7-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-9 and 1-5 with the loss. Kathryn Reilly led Gettysburg with a game-high 18 points, a game-high ten rebounds, and a game-high four steals. Jamie Marshall added 16 points, while Katie Eiden and Margaret White each finished with 11 for the Bullets. Sophomore guard Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) scored a team-high 11 points. Sophomore guard Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) added ten points and a game-high six assists along with six rebounds. Freshman forward Brianne Slizofski (Collegeville, PA/St. Pius X) also added ten points of her own, while freshman forward Kaitlyn Roth (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected a team-high seven rebounds in the loss. Gettysburg shot 41% from the field in the game, while Washington shot 38%. The Shorewomen outrebounded the Bullets by a margin of 39-36.. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference home game against Trinity (DC). |
