Shorewomen Stifle PBU, 46-33
Turner & Pastorino Combine for 31 Points

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Host Washington College held visiting Philadelphia Biblical to 23% shooting from the field en route to a 46-33 women's basketball victory this evening at Cain Athletic Center. Freshman guard Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) and sophomore guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) combined for 31 points in the win for the Shorewomen (5-16).

The Shorewomen took the lead for good on a Turner jumpshot with 12:30 left in the first half that put Washington up, 8-7. Washington led 20-15 at halftime and outscored the Crimson Eagles (12-9), 26-18, in the second half to extend the margin.

The Shorewomen shot 37% in the game, including a 48% performance in the second half. Philadelphia Biblical was 13-of-57 from the field in the loss.

Turner led all scorers with 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Pastorino scored 15 points on five-of-eight shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Senior guard Jeremy Cook (Pattenburg, NJ/North Hunterdon) added six points and a game-high five assists for Washington.

Katie Ranck led the Crimson Eagles with 15 points and collected seven boards. Lauren Gruver added nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Kelly Schlegel dished out a game-high five assists.

The Shorewomen will play their final home game of the season when they host Gettysburg College in a 2:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game on Saturday.
