January 13, 2005 CARLISLE, PA Host Dickinson College topped visiting Washington College, 79-58, in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game this evening in Carlisle, PA. Allyson Teatom supplied the Red Devils (10-1 overall, 6-1 Centennial) with a game-high 22 points, while sophomore guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) led the Shorewomen (2-11, 1-6) with 13 points. Teatom shot 9-of-14 from the field en route to her 22 points. She also blocked a game-high four shots and grabbed eight rebounds. Laura Housel added 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for Dickinson, while Megan Shelley added nine points and a game-high seven steals. Jessica Howard dished out a game-high five assists for the Red Devils. Freshman guard Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) joined Turner in double figures in scoring for Washington, finishing with 11 points. Sophomore forward Lauren Duckworth (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) added nine points and seven rebounds, while freshman forward Kim Proctor (Ferndale, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) matched her career high with nine points and brought down a team-high right rebounds. Dickinson shot 46% from the field in the game, while Washington shot 36%. The Red Devils held a slight 40-39 advantage on the boards. The Shorewomen are back in action Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Franklin & Marshall. |
