5, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD The Muhlenberg College women's basketball team moved to an 8-0 overall and 3-0 in Centennial Conference play and set a school record for points in game with a 116-73 win over host Washington College tonight at Cain Athletic Center. The Mules also recorded a school-record 35 steals in the win. Jill Friedman led the Mules with a game-high 24 points in just 14 minutes on 10-of-12 shooting from the field. Gwen Doyle added 16 points, while Kristen Piscadlo tallied 13. Doyle and Piscadlo each had a game-high six steals. Erin DeVaney also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points. Senior guard Karen Simos (North Potomac, MD/Thomas S. Wootton) led the Shorewomen (2-6, 1-3 CC) with 21 points. Senior forward Liz Smith (Sharpsburg, MD/Boonsboro) added 16 points and eight boards, while freshman guard LaToya Turner (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) scored 10 points and dished out four assists in 10 minutes of play. Freshman forward Lauren Duckworth (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) grabbed a game-best 10 rebounds for Washington. The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Swarthmore. |
