Bullets Trip Up Shorewomen
Smith Leads WC with 13 Points

GETTYSBURG, PA – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team defeated visiting Washington College, 68-52, in a Centennial Conference game this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. The Bullets improved to 10-12 overall and 7-8 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 7-15 and 3-12 with the loss.

Washington led, 17-16, with 8:05 to play in the first half before the Bullets ended the period on a 15-3 run to take a 31-20 lead at the break. Gettysburg led by at least eight points throughout the second half.

Jen Bengel posted game highs of 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Bullets, while Kathryn Reilly tallied 12 points, eight boards, and a game-high seven blocks. Elizabeth Ross added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and five rebounds for Gettysburg.

Senior forward Liz Smith (Sharpsburg, MD/Boonsboro) led the Shorewomen with 13 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard Yianna Patronas (Bethesda, MD/Walt Whitman) tallied 12 points and six boards. Freshman forward Lauren Duckworth (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) finished with nine points and eight rebounds for Washington.

The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Swarthmore.
